Teacher and school devices

Working records live in the Progress Grove app on iPhone, iPad or Mac. Students appear as numbers and badges. Dictated notes are transcribed on the device, and the audio is never uploaded. Every feature works offline.

Devices, exports, the Sheet's working tabs and staff emails use numbers and badges. Names appear only in the Roster tab and in reports saved to a restricted folder.

FERPA, COPPA and data privacy agreements

FERPA puts schools in charge of students' education records. Progress Grove is built so those records never leave the school's control.

Records stay under school control

Observations live on school devices and in the school's own Google Workspace, under the school's FERPA policies and sharing rules. QuickerNotes, LLC, which makes Progress Grove, never receives them.

Nothing for a vendor to disclose

We hold no student data, so there is nothing for us to share, sell, lose in a breach or hand back when a school stops.

Adults use the app, not children

Teachers, counselors and specialists use Progress Grove. Students never sign in, and the app collects nothing from them directly.

Data privacy agreements

Many districts ask for a data privacy agreement before staff use any app, even one that holds no student data. Contact us before staff start and we will work through your review.

FERPA compliance is always the school’s responsibility; no app can be "FERPA compliant" on its own. The privacy policy covers this website and the app. Read the privacy policy
