Progress Grove app and website Privacy policy

This policy covers the Progress Grove app for iPhone and iPad, the Progress Grove Sheet that schools install in their own Google Workspace, and this website. Progress Grove is made by QuickerNotes, LLC ("we").
The short version
The app has no accounts, no server, no analytics and no network features. We receive no student data. Records move only when a staff member exports a file and chooses where it goes.
The app
Records stay in the app's private storage on the device, encrypted by iOS. They're kept until you erase them in the app's Settings or delete the app.
Dictation is optional. Speech is turned into text on the device only, and the audio is not saved.
Data leaves the app only when you export a file and choose where it goes in the share sheet. We never see those files.
iOS backups are separate: if the device backs up to iCloud or a computer, the backup includes the app's records unless Automatic device backup is set to Exclude app data in the app's Settings.
The school's Google Sheet
The Progress Grove Sheet runs in your school's own Google Workspace, under your school's accounts and sharing rules. It imports the files staff export, builds reports and sends staff emails from your school's account. It sends nothing to us, and we have no access to it.
Student records and FERPA
Observations about students are your school's education records. Your school controls them and is responsible for them under FERPA and state law. Because we never receive them, questions or requests about a student's records should go to the school.
This website
This website has no accounts, no forms and no analytics, and it sets no cookies of its own.
Our hosting providers, Laravel Cloud and Cloudflare, process the technical details every website receives, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to deliver and protect the site. Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie to tell people from automated traffic.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and keep a record of the conversation.
Children
Progress Grove is used by adults: teachers, counselors and other school staff. It is not directed to children, students never sign in, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Selling and sharing
We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Changes
When what the app stores or where data can go changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
